Technology

The technology for revealing explosives is based on the detection of molecules of explosives released in the air by means of supersensitive sensors based on properly functionalised nanostructures.

The explosive sensor is mounted on a drone permitting a remote and unmanned control of the explosive detection in dangerous locations.

  • Remote control
  • Explosive sensor
01

Germanium nanowires sensors

Functionalized NSw will behave as field effect transistors (FET) in which the explosive molecules modify the gate potential and change the conductivity of the FET channel making it sensitive to the presence of explosive molecules.

02

Carbon Nanotube (CNT) sensors

Carbon nanotubes (CNT) based sensor. Carbon nanotubes attract explosive molecules in the air thank to their surface functionalization. The signal due to the change of CNT network resistance reveals the presence of explosive.

03

Remote control

Remote control will be based on an Arduino board mounted on the drone, connected to the explosive sensor and wireless connected to a controller, such as for example a smartphone.
